Melanie – About Me

I am attempting to live a life full of purpose. That purpose being knowing Christ and making Him known. HE is my best friend and reason for life!

I love expressing myself through writing. I adore long hours of solitude and value my time alone with God. On the other hand I absolutely love spending time with people, whether in big groups, or one on one at a coffee shop. I love exploring and want to see more of the world. I love the quiet of the country, but also love the people of the city. I have a heart for Asia and dream of being a missionary there someday. I love old books and candles burning while I read. I love praise and worship music, but revert more often then not to my quiet instrumental soundtracks. I love earth-tones. I love making and creating things with my hands, and am always on the lookout for new ideas of things to make. I love to dress up, but prefer comfort to style, flip-flops to heels. I love cooking and baking and trying new recipes. I absolutely love learning new things, and checking out stacks of books from the library to ensure that this happens. I love to exercise, but rarely get done what I want to. I would much prefer smoking hot temps to freezing cold. Laughing and joking around with my family is a huge highlight. Relationships are one of my most important pursuits. I am blessed with an overabundance of amazing friends who speak into my life and inspire me, make me smile, and bring my joy. My Mother is my hero. And so is my Dad. Chocolate and coffee are two of my favorite things. My favorite place to pray out loud is when I’m driving in the car. Some of my happiest moments are when I am alone with my journal, my Bible, and a good book. Oh, and my camera! I love learning more about photography and trying to capture some of God’s beautiful creation. My temperament is choleric-melancholy. My favorite flowers are orchids. What I want to learn more about: Prayer, being grateful in all things, and building relationships.
